The Million Credit Quartet was a Rock/Country supergroup consisting of Aidan Pritchard, Connor Pearson, Joseph P. McClintock, and Budd Wickens. They originally met at Blue Moon Records in Tallow, Tenburg in 1956 before their careers took them separate ways. In 1986, thirty years later, the four reunited and released the album Somethin' To Show Ya... Nothin' to Prove and embarked on the highest-grossing, best-selling music tour in history to that time. They released a second album and toured again before disbanding in 1990. They reunited twice, briefly in 1996 and 2000, and disbanded permanently when McClintock died in 2001.

1956 jam session[edit]

On 12 July 1956, Connor Pearson and his trio were recording tracks a session at Blue Moon Studios in Tallow, with McClintock, at the time unknown outside of Tallow, playing piano on the session. Studio President Patrick Moore had invited Budd Wickens, who was in Tallow as part of a travelling show, to listen in on the session, having met him at a show a few nights before. Sometime in the early afternoon, Aidan Pritchard, a former Blue Moon artist now with TRI, came in to pay a casual visit and listened in on the session with Wickens. As Pearson finished, Wickens and Pritchard entered the studio, and a jam session began. They mainly played songs that they all grew up knowing, primarily in the gospel and country genres, but also played rock n' roll songs they were hearing at the time, as well as some of their own music. In Wickens' 2003 autiobiography Walking Tall: My Story, he wrote, "It had to be the most fun I ever had in a studio. We were cutting up anything we could think of, from gospel to rock 'n roll to country, some old cowboy songs... It was terrific, and the more we played with each other, the better we sounded." It would be the last time the four would be in the same place at the same time for thirty years.
