The First Ziridavan Civil War was a civil war in Ziridava from TBD 1945 to TBD 1948. The war was fought between 3 factions, which were the monarchists Royal Ziridavan Armed Forces, the republican Blue Wing Movement, and the Ziridava Communist Party, the last of which would come out victorious.

The civil war resulted from a heavily polarized political climate in the country. Fighting broke out in 1945 between the government and rebel forces, and intensified in 1947 as a result of the power vacuum left by the Granzerian withdrawal, following occupation during the Great Ostravic War. The civil war was one of the first conflicts of the Parabellum Era, with each side being supported by conflicting blocs in Vesperia. The two biggest factions were the Blue Wing Movement, supported by Acronia and Temischa, and the Ziridava Communist Party, supported by Gorbatov and Stasnov. Although the exiled Kingdom of Ziridava fought as well, the movement had lost most of its popularity by the beginning of the war. In the end, the ZCP won the war after a Stasnovan invasion in 1949, which forced the monarchists and republicans to begin waging guerilla warfare.

Timeline

Granzerian Occupation

Following the capitulation of the Kingdom of Ziridava in 1943, Ziridava was occupied by the Granzerian Royal Army. Although official uniformed forces were defeated, a number of Ziridavan troops fled into the mountains and forests of Ziridava and continued to wage a guerilla war on Granzerian occupation forces. In 1944 a pro-Granzerian collaborationist government was established known as the Viceroyalty of Ziridava, and its internal security forces, the Ziridavan Defence Force, clashed repeatedly with partisan forces. The commencement of Operation Luna resulted in all Granzerian forces being withdrawn from the region, and although the Ziridavan Defence Force attempted to keep order in the country, the central authority quickly collapsed and the partisan forces quickly descended into internal conflicts.
